Ukrainian born violinist, Andrii Isakov, commenced his studies at Khmelnytskyi School of Music #2 at the age of 6 studying with Raisa Rashyna. In 2008, he continued his studies in Lviv Special Music School as a student of Oksana Tsap. After graduating from the School, Andrii spent one year in Zagreb, Croatia to study at the National Music Academy with the concertmaster of Zagreb Symphony Orchestra, Orest Shourgot. In 2012 Andrii moved to the US to study with Mark Lakirovich at the Chicago College for Performing Arts, Roosevelt University as full-scholarship student. In 2018, he continued his studies with Prof. Kurt Sassmannshaus at College-Conservatory of Music (CCM) in Cincinnati. While doing his masters Andrii has recieved Starling Scholarship Award. He was also the concertmaster of CCM Philharmonia Orchetsra. Currently, Andrii is doing his DMA as a full-scholarship student at CCM.
Andrii is a laureate of several national and international competitions, including Francesco Forgione International Violin Competition (Italy, 2009), Cremona International Competition for Strings (Italy, 2013), two Regional Khmelnytsky Violin Competitions (Ukraine, 2000 and 2006), Cliff Dwellers Music Club (USA, 2014), and Croatian National Violin Competition (Croatia, 2011). He has also received the North Shore Music Award in Chicago as a winner of the competition. Recently, Andrii was awarded second prize in Lewisville Lake Symphony International Competition for Strings and Harp (USA, 2020). In addition, Andrii is a winner of two concerto competitions in the schools where he studied: at Lviv Special School of Music and at CCM.
Andrii has performed numerous solo recitals and as a chamber musician in China, Italy, Poland, Croatia, Ukraine, and the United States. He appeared as a soloist with the National Ukrainian Philharmonic Orchestra (Kyiv, Ukraine), Lviv Symphony Orchestra (Ukraine), Khmelnytskyi Symphony Orchestra (Ukraine), Cremona Festival Symphony Orchestra (Italy), CCM Philharmonia Orchestra (USA), and other ensembles.
As a teacher, Andrii has worked in OSOM (Ohio School of Music,2018-2019) and have taught privately students of different levels from beginners to college students. Also, Andrii was invited to be an associate faculty at Cremona International Music Academy, Italy following summer. Andri has also been invited to give a master class in China in June.
